Now a mere 4 years later I finally received permission to save the rest of the family.
The two Patty’s are a little worse for wear but will clean up well. They will get a prominent home in the garden

Outside the living room we have two birdfeeders. One for the chickadees and the other we just recently put up for the hummingbirds. My guy sits by this window all the time and it is cool to watch the birds all day. The hummingbirds are coming all day everyday.
I have been working all week since we put up the feeder so today was the first day I got to see them. I can’t believe the sound of their wings. It’s quite amazing. They also sit on the branch outside the window. They have a huge drink then go sit down, then they back go for another drink and fly off. So cool!

For some reason I have become quite fascinated with photographing spiders and small bugs, well any kind of bug really. Zoom in and check out the hair on it’s legs. Creepy!

No, not THAT GATE but a gate none the less.
A while back I had the pleasure of hiking some of our West Coast beaches and along the way is this fabulous gate. There was a small sign that stated feel free to close the gate and take a picture, so that’s what we did.
This is the result.
There were a few of these flying dogs around as well.
This is the company behind the gate and I can only imagine what else they can make

I write knowing that most people will not read this so I can be as honest as I want and who cares what other people think anyway right.
Some of you may know that 6 months ago I was diagnosed with PTSD. Look it up if you really want to know what it is. Varies for every individual.
Anyway after 6 months of not working I started back on a graduated back to work deal this week.
I did not realize that my job was protected, Lucky me, so now I am gradually working into full time at my old position doing 4 hr days 4 days a week.
Works for me I didn't really want my old job back but it is what it is.
The doctor will decide when I can work more hours.
While I was gone someone was given the responsibility of my position so my understanding coming back was we are basically job sharing until I am back to full time.
Well I get to work on my last day for the week, yesterday, and I am informed that the person who is supposed to be helping me has been put in a new department as of Monday.
WTF!
What kind of support system is that??
What kind of expectation does that put on me who is still fragile and could explode at any minute :-)
I seriously don't want to go to work Monday I am very anxious.
We all have to grin and bear it I know but come on let's be realistic about things.
Throw me back into a 40 HR a week position and expect me to do it in 16. Ya know what Fuck You!
It won't be my fault if I go postal, ha ha.
I am joking I am not going to go postal I am way beyond that, lol.
There is something wrong here though.
Well that is my vent for the day.
Must go water the flowers now they bring me much peace.
And then pizza in bed with a movie.
What more could I ask for to forget the realities of life.
The cinema!

It was a long day and we finished up with dinner at The Coastal Cafe in Port Renfrew where the food was fabulous.

The area of the tree where it was sitting was dripping sap it just flew in sat down and ate for awhile. It was the coolest thing.
One might ask why so many photos?
My answer would be love. My man has health concerns and can’t travel, this way he can take the trip vicariously thru me and I can relate the trip as we go along.
This series is dedicated to him.
Series Two of Thru the Window
Photos were taken using my PENTAX Optio E90 pocket camera.
The majority of photos I took on this trip were with this camera so I have divided the slideshows by day. Enjoy and remember if you click thru on the slideshow you can see a larger version and slow down the slideshow.
Day One
The fireworks here are horrible I know but it was Canada Day and I was on a moving train. They were in Mission.
Day Two
This was where I woke up around 6am just out side Kamloops. Arrived in Jasper at 4pm our time. The ride was awesome.
Day Three
Met my Friend in Jasper and we drove to Clearwater and camped on the North Thompson River
Day Four
We started our day waking up next to the North Thompson River and we ended the day camping in Sasquatch Provincial Park. We didn’t see him though.

This is the first of my Thru the Window series.
I went on a small trip took the train to Jasper, stayed over and the next day my best friend picked me up and we drove back to the Island and went camping for a couple days along the way.
I used three types of cameras and Series One is done completely on my ASUS Tablet.
When I did have wi-fi I shared a few picks on Facebook.Cool feature of instant upload of photos. If the train had wi-fi I would have blogged all along.

In some parts of the country it is already Canada Day but here on the west coast as I write it is tomorrow. Tomorrow I am going on what I think is the ultimate Canada Day trip. I am leaving Duncan in the morning, heading to Victoria then leaving Vancouver Island for Vancouver, crossing the pond and stepping onto the mainland for the first time in best guess 10 years. From Vancouver I am taking the train to Jasper so I will be finishing off Canada Day toasting a beer on the train in the Rocky Mountains, travelling roughly 400 km across the country on Canada Day. Kinda cool I think.
Once I get to Jasper which is on July 2nd I am spending the night there and then the next morning my awesome friend is picking me up and we are driving back to the Island. Again how cool is that? I am so excited. I am going to try my best keep the blog up to date but you might not see anything until I get back :0( all depends on service. I am actually testing my tablet on this trip to see how well it functions.

It’s such a rainy day today, nothing new here. So I thought I would share the story of my Lily that has managed to bloom through the miserable weather.

It’s funny as I go to write this ramble a track from Pink Floyd’s The Wall comes on.
I have had the music on all night on random and The Wall seems to have been prevalent. I have been revisiting some photos. and came across this one.
i specifically took this photo in the hallway of the Empress Hotel where I got to stay at 19 years old for $18 when Pink Floyd’s The Wall was the film of the time. This hallway immediately took me to the hotel scene.
Was listening to Blondie today and it reminded of the time I met Deborah Harry. Many years ago I worked in a record store and one of the perks of the job was getting free concert tickets. Many of my tales about meeting people will have come benefit of these free tickets and there were a few.
As it went whenever there was a concert at a club in town my friend and I took turns going to the venue directly after work to be the first in line to get front row seats or the next best thing.
Well on one of these occasions I was sitting outside a club called The Forge waiting to get in to see Deborah Harry.
So there I am sitting on the sidewalk and I look up from my book and Deborah Harry walks by and as I watch her walk down the street I think why didn't I say something but then what would I say. Hi I'm a huge fan and can't wait to see your show tonight! Like she hadn't heard that about a million times. I generally don't like to bother people but this was Deborah Harry and I am a big fan. I thought to myself opportunity lost, oh well.
Luck was evidently on my side that day as a few minutes later she came walking back up the street. I wasn't about to let the opportunity slip by again so as she came closer I worked up the nerve to say hello and ask for an autograph. She said hi and then her assistant said they were in a hurry and she would sign something for me if it was quick. Well believe it or not I did not even have a slip of paper in my purse for her to sign all I had was a visa receipt so I pulled it out and had her sign the back. I thanked her for stopping and went back to waiting for the doors to open.
I sat there thinking how cool was that I just met Deborah Harry. Boy was my friend jealous when she showed up and found out what had happened. The show was awesome of course and extra special because of the fact I got to meet her. Good times were had by all!
